14 Place Settings Fit in the dishwasher all at once with two full levels of adjustable rack space that make room for your pots, pans, glassware and plates. Easily clean whatever you cook up, from prep to party.

2 Fold-Down Stemware Holders Secure wine glasses along the side of the middle rack to prevent them from moving around during the wash cycle. The space on top of the shelf also accommodates small cups or longer items like utensils and spatulas.

39 dBA Provides quiet cleaning without compromising performance, so there s no need to wait to run a wash cycle while entertaining and enjoying meals, even in open concept kitchens.

ADA Compliant (US Only) This dishwasher meets the Standards for Accessible Design specified by the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide equal access to all. (US Only)

Adjustable Middle Rack Adds flexibility to fit tall items like a stand mixer bowl. Lower the rack to place large dishes inside or raise it to make room for platters, pitchers, blender jars and more in the rack below.

Adjustable Rows in Middle and Lower Racks Fold down to make room for dishes in a variety of shapes and sizes like roasting pans, serving bowls, colanders and dutch ovens.

Door-Open Dry System Automatically opens after the cycle to allow hot air out and fresh air to circulate within, making it KitchenAid brand's most energy efficient dry system.* *Compared to KitchenAid® Dishwashers with ProDry™ Option.

Durable Stainless Steel Interior Offers the beauty and benefits of stainless steel inside the dishwasher. It resists streaks, stains and odors, while retaining heat to help improve drying.

Energy Star® Certified To exceed government standards for energy efficiency, supporting sustainability and helping to save money on utility bills.

Enhanced Dry Coating Specialized coating on the third level utensil caddy helps wick water away for a better utensil drying performance

Extended Dry Option Extends the drying cycle for loads that need extra drying performance by adding a hot rinse to the final cycle.

Flush Design Allows dishwasher to fit evenly with countertops and cabinetry to help give the kitchen a seamless look and feel.

FreeFlex™ Fit Third Level Rack Deep angled design fits 5" glasses, mugs and bowls, allowing 30% more capacity.* It features designated wash jets to clean items in the rack and a removable utensil tray with specialized coating that helps repel water for fast drying. *Compared to KitchenAid® Two-Rack Dishwashers.

Integrated Water Softener Helps in preventing scale buildup and water streaks in homes without soft water systems. Self-regenerating salt system should be activated upon installation if desired.* *Do not activate if water softening system already in use. Salt sold separately.

Interior LED Lighting System Illuminates inside the dishwasher when the door is open, allowing clearer visibility for easy loading and unloading.

Leak Identification System Helps detect most types of leaks and includes a drip tray underneath. If the system detects a problem, the dishwasher can stop filling, drain the tub and alert that service is needed.*
*Will not detect leaks from the water inlet or tub drain connections and hoses or leaks due to cracked tubs or doors

Pre-Rinse Option Helps overcome the need to hand rinse before loading the dishwasher by washing away small easy-to-remove soils for optimized cleaning performance during the main wash cycle.

PrintShield™ Finish Resists smudges and fingerprints. The specialized coating for stainless steel is easy to clean with just water and a soft cloth, so you can spend more time cooking and less time cleaning up the kitchen.

ProWash™ Cycle Uses sensors to measure soil levels throughout the cycle and adapts wash time and water temperature as needed for tough messes or lighter loads, because no two meals or the dishes that result are exactly the same.

SatinGlide® Rails in Third and Middle Racks Move smoothly on ball-bearing glides for easy loading and unloading.

Top Controls with Countdown Projection Are tucked away on top of the dishwasher door for a clean look to match your kitchen style. LED projection on the floor subtly displays cycle progress.

Triple Filtration System Uses three levels of filtration to remove food particles during the wash and rinse cycles. This ensures clean water circulates through the wash arms and onto dishes, even with dirty cookware.

Wash Cycle Countdown Conveniently projects an easily readable LED countdown below the dishwasher onto the floor, so you always know the status of the cycle and how much time is left. When illumination disappears, wash is complete.

KitchenAid Appliances Rebate

Offer Expires: 10/1/2026 to 12/31/2026 Must be postmarked by: 1/30/2027

Receive up to a $4000 rebate with purchase of qualifying KitchenAid Appliances. Rebate form must be postmarked by 1/30/2027.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Failing after just 4 years

Skylovr 7/28/2026

We've owned this dishwasher for 4 years now. In the last 6 months a loud noise has developed when it runs. A pump is failing. Researching, this seems to be a common problem. So disappointed. We bought KitchenAid because our previous one lasted decades. Four years is all we got on this one.

Happy with our purchace

LotsofKids 1/21/2026

We installed this 3 months ago and are happy with it. It does spray the door, which is a little loud and unexpected, but in general it's a quiet dishwasher. I'm not sure that it's worth the price tag, but I like the 3rd level!

Viva1 12/27/2025

BIG problem: Plates will not fit on bottom rack. Can™€™t imagine what the designers were thinking!! Other than that, it™€™s very nice and quiet. But not being able to wash normal size dinner plates is a BIG Problem that can™€™t be ignored!!

So flexible it's not practible

Unhappy with this product 12/14/2025

I wish I had paid more attention to how you might load dishes in the dishwasher. While this model is sold based on it's flexibility, it's not practical to load dishes on a daily basis. The second rack in particular is not well designed for loaded several days worth of dishes. When you try and use the emply slots, there is nothing to anchor the dishes in place. Therefor they slide around when opened and closed.

Very quiet but™€¦

Wasilla AK 12/4/2025

We love that it™€™s super quiet!! As quiet as our 18 year old Miele was. It cleans as good to!!! We really like some of the extra features like the remaining time projection on the floor, the door automatically pops open when the cleaning is finished. Now the part that we had difficulty with, the racks. The lower rack dish holder is different, our dishes are 11™€ diameter and the dish would hit the water arm because they stand straight up in a wired way. So I looked at it for a while and did some thinking. I just bent the dish rack tines a little bit and allowed the dish to tilt to the middle. Sooo much better!! If you have dishes larger than 11™€ then the middle rack can be raised. But!! If you do that your drinking glasses may not fit in the middle rack. Ours are 6™€ tall glasses. That brings us to the top rack, 3 total racks like the Miele had. The top rack is a cool design but falls short of being usable for what they made it for. Cups or drink glasses. They say it will take a 6™€ tall glass but in reality it™€™s only 5.5™€. Our coffee cups are larger than fits also. 😏. So we have it all figured out now but it was an adjustment for us. Overall, we liked the rack configuration of the Meile so much more. Would we buy it again? Yes, but, we would have considered a Bosch or a Thermador even more had we known about the rack issues. Note, if you decided to get the Kitchenaid, there is a rebate available for the dishwasher install. Lowe™€™s didn™€™t tell me that so I installed it myself.

Nice dishwasher but poorly engineered racks

Larryha 11/24/2025

We replaced our 3 rack, 17 year old Miele dishwasher with this Kitchenaid. The Kitchenaid is comparable; very quiet, water softener and 3 racks. We are very pleased with the quiet but all 3 racks are not sized as advertised and the lower rack that holds dishes is so very poorly designed. It barely holds one meals worth of plates because the rack is not consistent with the space and location of the tines. The top rack is supposed to hold 6™€ glassware on their side, but no, 5.5™€ would be pushing it. The silverware rack on right must be removed for a 6™€ glass to fit. We are very disappointed in the rack design but, so far happy with the low sound and good cleaning. Comparable to the Miele for sound and cleaning.

Better get Jersey if you want it to work right.

Vic.W 11/6/2025

At first, this dishwasher was fantastic. Now that we are almost 9 months down the road, it has stopped drying our dishes regardless to how full the Jetdry dispenser is™€¦ I wonder if there isn™€™t either an issue with that system, or the heating element has given out. Regardless, being beholden to a requirement to use a chem ill to have an effective dishwasher is a very dirty way to do business. I wish Whirlpool/kitchenaid saint go down that road with their appliances and force their customers to use a product without prior knowledge of the requirement to have an effective/efficient dishwasher.

The most important highlight of the KitchenAid 39

hadassanaika_6536 9/13/2025

I recently installed the KitchenAid 39 dBA PrintShield Finish Dishwasher with FreeFlex Third Level Rack, and I™€™m really impressed so far! The installation was straightforward and seamless, fitting perfectly flush with my cabinets for a modern look. At 39 dBA, the noise level is barely noticeable™€"so quiet that I sometimes forget it™€™s even running. The cleaning performance is excellent; dishes, glasses, and even pots come out sparkling clean without needing extra rinsing. It also dries really well thanks to the Automatic Door-Open Dry System. In terms of energy efficiency, it runs smoothly without consuming too much power, making it both eco-friendly and cost-saving. The design is sleek, fingerprint-resistant, and the third-level rack adds so much extra space™€"I can fit more items than I expected. Overall, this dishwasher is a perfect blend of performance, style, and efficiency. ™™™™™

deemad_4466 8/31/2025

I'm so impressed with this KitchenAid dishwasher! It has quickly become my favorite appliance. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly quiet it is™€"at 39 dBA, it's practically silent, which is a huge plus in an open-concept living space. The PrintShield ™ finish is a game-changer for keeping the kitchen looking tidy; fingerprints and smudges are no longer an issue. I also love the flush-to-cabinet design, which gives my kitchen a seamless, high-end look. What really sets this model apart, though, is the FreeFlex™ Fit Third Level Rack. It's perfect for all those smaller items like silverware, lids, and small bowls that used to clutter the main racks. It's an ingenious use of space that makes loading and unloading so much easier.

My new KitchenAid dishwasher is a total game changer! At only 39 dBA, it™€™s whisper-quiet. I can run it anytime without even noticing. The FreeFlex Third Level Rack gives me so much extra space for utensils, mugs, and odd-shaped items, and the adjustable middle rack makes fitting tall pots super easy. A pure mess from installation to repair

Foxes 8/1/2025

Worst experience with a Kitchenaid product we've had. Replaced our existing Whirlpool dishwasher to move it into the basement as part of the renovation. The delivery by JB Hunt, which also installed it, was abysmal. The dishwasher was tilted causing the door to open and smash against our cabinets. Then the install left it cockeyed and not flush to the cabinets. The black rubber gaskets that cover the gap from the dishwasher to the cabinet were left with about a 1/4 gap. When the door was shut, the middle rack was left out and now there are dents on the inside of the door. The top rack rail had a piece broken off. The installation team left pieces covered with plastic and styrofoam in the dishwasher that weren't discovered until two days after they left and after they turned it on to check operation. We have no idea why a delivery service is also acting like installation professionals. The people that installed this dishwasher clearly did not know what they were doing. The even took the clips that were part of the previous dishwasher with them and we had to go out and buy new ones so we could have the other dishwasher installed in our basement. While we do like the features of the new dishwasher, and it seems to wash the dishes better and quieter than the previous one, the poor installation service overshadows its performance. Additionally, we called Whirlpool support, and they sent out a team from JB Hunt again, to look at the installation. Even after that visit, the dishwasher is still cockeyed and not flush with the cabinets. The people couldn't address the broken part and then said that the dents in the door compromised it and we would need a new dishwasher. Called Whirlpool support again and the put a service order in with Affordable Appliance Repair. We get the notification that the service will be on the 29th of July. The 29th comes and goes. Call AAR directly and they can't find anything in their system indicating a service order was made. Contact Whirlpool again and we are able to get AAR to come out on the 31st of July. The service tech shows up, aligns the dishwasher a little better but it is still cockeyed and not flush with the cabinet. He has to order the part that broke and says the door dents are just cosmetic. Absolutely they are cosmetic, but we didn't buy a brand-new dishwasher to come with "cosmetic damage". He leaves and we run the dishwasher again after loading it and now it is louder than before. This is turning into a comedy of errors starting with the delivery. We know, eventually, Whirlpool will make this right, the issue is the time it takes to resolve all this when it should have been done right the first time!

Great machine but frustrating.

Mrs. Mo 8/1/2025

We purchased two dishwashers in early July. Love the look of the machines, the quietness, the ease of setting the programs. I especially love the lights on the floor which tell me how much longer the wash has to run. The normal wash takes over two hours, which is too long. The Express Wash seems to work just fine. Hate and am totally frustrated by the basket/trays which are impossible to efficiently load. No more than 4 dinner plates can be loaded. I am unable to work out where to put wine glasses, no place for tall glasses. Dishes fall back on each making me certain that something will break, although so far they have not. Pots and baking dishes can be fit in, which is nice. I seem to spend more time working out how to load the machine than I would if I would hand washing the dishes.

Game-Changer for My Kitchen!

kristinaabensonn_1536 7/25/2025

I am obsessed with this KitchenAid dishwasher! The sleek stainless finish is fingerprint-resistant and always looks clean. It™€™s perfect for a busy household like mine. It blends seamlessly with my cabinets giving my kitchen that high-end, custom look. But it™€™s not just pretty it performs, it™€™s whisper quiet. I can run it anytime, even during family movie night, and barely notice it™€™s on. The third level rack is a total lifesaver! It™€™s a place for spatulas, measuring cups, and even those awkward water bottle lids. Everything comes out clean, even heavily soiled pots and pans. I™€™ve noticed way fewer spots on glasses too. Plus, the interior layout is smart! There is a ton of space. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen with a beautiful, powerful, and quiet dishwasher. Worth every penny! ðŸ'¯

I have owned Kitchenaid dishwashers for 40 years and just renovated a new residence. Ordered it from a local Appliance store without hesitation . However, I am finding it difficult to load because of lack of flexibility of racks. I haven™€™t yet found the best way to best utilize the spaces. Would like to see some diagrams. I wish I had a good dishwasher

CsbS 7/13/2025

I had my new dishwasher installed on June 19 and it quit working on June 29. A repair man came on July 2 and found that a major component was dead. On July 11 a part was delivered to my home. I contacted the repair man and was told that he was waiting for another part. I paid good money for a top of the line dishwasher and don™€™t have a working dishwasher. I have difficulty washing dishes by hand and need a good working dishwasher. I would like to get a new replacement dishwasher if this one can™€™t be fixed and working well quickly.

The third shelf is a big trouble. No real manual

rudy0657 7/7/2025

I needed a showrtened dishwasher to fit it under the counter. According to Best Buy, this one was the only model available. They did not have it on the floor; hence, it was a blind purchase. Because I owned a similar KitchenAid dishwasher (which I was replacing) and it was OK, I did not expect surprises. Once I got the new one at last after 6 weekes, I was disappointed. This model has 3 shelves. As a result, the useful volume is strongly reduced, I cannot wash some of my larger items (i.e., soucepans, cooking utencils, and dishes). The third shelf is useless. It has a tiny holder for utencils (in addition to full size rack in the first shelf) and holders for cups and glasses (half of my mugs do not fit). As a result, I need to use the new dishwasher twice more often than the previous one and to wash several large items by hand now. The stuff in the 1st and 2nd shelves is washed very well. Half of 3rd shelf is not washed. I am not happy, but I have no choice. The worst part is that the manufacturer does not provide a complete menual. The dishwasher shows some strange symbols, beeps occasionally, but I can only guess the meaning. The Customer service was useless - they even did not bother to respond.

Not the best, but not the worst dishwasher

This is a step back from the previous design. Addition of the third shelf resulted in loss of function. Now I cannot use the dishwasher for about 15% of items, which are too large. There is no good holding of mugs and glasses - they go on their sides and roll because of lack of positioning frames. I do not have the galsses they use in photoshops; mine just do not fit that way. And in the photoshops they use racks with older style vertical pins (which are practical). The new spacing in the lower rack limits the sizes of dishes and their number that can be inserted. What is completely ridiculous is the number of positions for utencils - about 10 times more than dishes (they eat space both in the 1st and 3rd racks). And the manual is completely useless. If they were too lazy to write down the meaning of the buttons and the proper way to use them, at least insert the links to videos made by other frustrated users (this is how I learned that the 3rd rack has its own jets). Unfortunately, I have no choice because this is only one 21 inch-deep model left on the market. If my previous dishwasher (did not fall apart (also Kitchen Aid, required 3 repairs), I would not bother. However, if I forget that I need now use it twice more often and need to wash many items now by hand, the washing it does is excellent.

Terrible quality and service

UnhappyBill 6/7/2025

Installed May 12, and we have still not been able to run a load of dishes as of June 7. We tried the rinse cycle when installed, and my DB meter measured it at over 50 DB, as high as 60 DB, for what is supposed to be a 39DB dishwasher! Way worse than advertised. The feature we wanted, the door opening at the end of the cycle, did work, however. Before we could run a load, though, the plastic "striker" loop from the latch mechanism broke off (our previous KA dishwashers have had a metal striker part). Our first appointment for service via the KA online site never came, and when called said they had no record of the appointment. The second time we tried, via the KA online chat, we never even got a confirmation email like before, and when I tracked down the service man he also had no record of the appointment, but he said when I called that the striker part was back ordered and he would get in touch when it came it. We are still waiting. The quality of this dishwasher is terrible, given its loud noise and cheap plastic broken part that we can't get replaced. KA online service is also terrible, given its failure to set appointments. All this for one of KA's newest and most expensive dishwashers! We have always had KA dishwashers in the past, but we could not recommend KA now to our worst enemy!

Some nice features

Artist chef 4/25/2025

Has some very nice features such as the illuminated timer on the floor & the air dry door open. I don't believe the upright tines allow for the most efficient loading of plates & bowls.

Maybe last 5 years

Debi2222 2/21/2025

We installed this dishwasher February 2020 and it just died, our microwave that we bought at the same time died last month (January 2025). 5 years of having appliances this expensive should last. That was the reason I purchased these I thought they were quality. We have a refrigerator and stove also wait for them to die. No more KitchenAid for us.

Worth Every penny!

Tdex23 2/3/2025

Installed 1/20/25. We absolutely love this machine so far! No more hard water problems. No more hand washing skillet, pots, and pans. No more rinsing by hand to get rid of the white residue. Dishes virtually dry when it kicks off. So quiet my best friend had to feel the water supply line to make sure it was filling up the first time. Old dishwasher was hardwired so no need for the new cord and the machine came with a water supply line so no need for the new hose. Being on a fixed income we weren't sure about spending this much money but the ease of use and results make it worth every penny!

High priced dishwasher that lacks instructions

frankq123 12/20/2024

like the dishwasher, but KitchenAid now skimps on the instructions. The dishwasher comes with a lot of features that are not mentioned or explained in the manual. Such a shame for the work in developing those features and the price charged.

Delivery failure

Joann Makox 11/18/2024

There have been three attempts to deliver my new $1800 dishwasher. The first attempt failed because the machine arrived with the incorrect installation hardware. The next two attempts were cancelled last minute by the delivery company. So I have now cleared my calendar three times to wait for this dishwasher to be installed. Very disappointing !!!

GLJ2024 11/1/2024

! week in and still trying to figure out settings. Owners manual is useless and Customer Service is worse. It has an interior light which take a engineer to figure out how to turn off or on. Save yourself a headache and shop for another brand.

Worst experience

budj992 10/29/2024

Follow up. Today I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with customer service. Had trouble getting service call scheduled for door which drops all he way down unless you hold it. I also tried to get an answer on what salt to use in the water softener after several holds and transfers I still have not gotten an answer. Only had it since last Thursday and am ready to return. Guess what , there are no returns for items purchased on Kitchenaid. Com. Biggest mistake in a long time on an $1800 dishwasher. Also last Kitchenaid purchase we will ever make. Worst customer service ever. Save yourself a headache and Do not buy Kitchenaid products.

Never again.

Thisishorrible. 10/28/2024

We have had technicians out here three times already. The motor that opens the dishwasher was stuck for days. Dishwasher flooded area under our kitchen sink. So much water left in the dishwasher even after letting them air dry for two days. Plastic items remain wet. When we shared the correct serial and model numbers no one believed us. Whirlpool even hung up on me even though I was kind to them.

Useless Manual and poor design features.

Budj99 10/27/2024

Instruction Manual is useless. No plug for power cord. Noiser than 16 year Miele we replaced. Instead of 2 leveling feet in rear there is one in middle and you have to find nut to adjust because nothing in manual. It wobbles as you you install. Very vague instructions on how to even start. Water softener salt not included and no reply from Kitchenaid on what to use, Customer Service lacking badly.

Good dishwasher, but internal capacity not great

peter4545 10/27/2024

This is my fourth KitchenAid dishwasher. My last one I bought in 2018, cost $1600, and lasted for 7 years before it developed a leak. A little disappointing, but overall still a good product so I decided to buy the KDTF924. Really 3 reasons - 1. overall happy with KA products, 2. matches my other KA appliances, and 3. features (very quiet and time remaining floor display) Installation: The instructions are not perfectly clear, and in one place probably not right, but overall it's a well designed product from an installation perspective. Absolutely ingenious having the rear leg adjustable from a bolt at the front of the unit. The waterproof electrical box is also a nice touch. Securing the dishwasher instructions are not well thought out. How, after I've pushed the dishwasher in, confirmed things are plumb, put the side gap covers on, am I able to install the included plastic spacers? You have to undo all the prior steps to have room to secure the spacers on the side of the unit. Performance: Very quiet, and at least with the couple light loads we've done, works very well. Love the auto-door open feature after a wash. Also love the time display on the floor. So, why only 3 stars? It didn't even occur to me to go find this unit in a store to take a look at the racks. I actually did go to two stores, but this model was not in either. After owning 3 prior KA dishwasher, I figured they had perfected the design of the racks. My last model (KDTE254) had the best designed racks ever. This dishwasher is a substantial step back, and worse than all my prior models. Based on where the dish racks are located, and the spacing between them, and the contours of the outside edge of the tray, this dishwasher probably holds 20-30% fewer dishes items than my last model. If you have small loads, then not a problem, but it is a problem for us. I think some of it is that the dishwasher interior volume seems smaller? Maybe that's required to pack more insulation around the unit to make it quieter? Perhaps manufacturers should list the interior volume of their units as they do with refrigerators? Also, one pet peeve. It's 2024.... how can't companies make it easy to register their products? Why not a QR code that has the S/N embedded and I just have to scan it and fill in my contact info? Instead, the 'Easily Register with your Phone' feature asks me to text a picture to a number (7***3) that you claim works for US and Canada. It doesn't work from Canada. And worse, the picture I'm supposed to text doesn't have the data in it that is required. I went to the photoregister.com/help site, and the data I need isn't on the form provided. There is also a section on the form that says 'Other Easy ways to register', and has a web icon and a phone icon, but theres no URL and no phone number next to them. So now my only alternative is to physically mail a slip? I haven't mailed a letter in years - I have no stamps. Perhaps if someone from KitchenAid reads this, they can reach out to me with a number I can call?

Good capacity and quiet, but smells toxic!

BcQd 10/4/2024

This dishwasher is small in its overall dimensions, which fits my smaller than usual space, but its holding capacity is impressive. It™€™s very quiet during the wash. However the plastic shelving materials smell toxic and nauseating for about a month even with once to twice daily washing!

Your dishes will be clean!

Ivparker 8/16/2024

I always find it interesting when people keep a dishwasher where they have to wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. You will not have to do that with this Kitchen Aid. Everything comes out clean and dry. I am pretty hard on my dishwashers as I have a very large family so we are running it at least twice a day. This is a great dishwasher!
